TAKE A WALK!The trick to staying with an exercise program is to keep it simple and make it fun. What could be more convenient than a brisk walk around your neighborhood? While walking, there are certain images that might help you. Try not to walk hunched over. Posture is very important. One of the greatest ways to remember the proper way to walk is to think of helium balloons holding up your head, your shoulders, and your chest, helping move you forward. Don’t look at the ground, but walk and look above the horizon. Otherwise your whole posture will be dragged down. If you look above the horizon, you’re going to be moving well and your body is going to end up at about a five-degree angle, the best angle for walking. If you swing your arms, you’re going to get even more of a workout. I remember hearing a story that Rose Kennedy used to swing her arms when she walked, and that’s probably why she lived to be over 100.
